Rustic Wedding in Chilliwack, BC
I had a real pleasure photographing this rustic backyard forest wedding for several reasons. One of them includes having the ceremony outdoors in the backyard forest. This wedding I was shooting without my assistant and I met Pavel first, future husband, in his house in Chilliwack, BC. They were about to be ready and we started with some natural light shots inside next to the window. He has the two most adorable dogs which were running around the house asking for attention. Obviously, they wanted to be included in the photo session! We finished the groom’s preparation and best man shots. Then, I rushed to our future bride’s house which was nearby. Natalie looked stunning in her dress as we were taking pictures in the huge backyard.
The Ceremony Location
After spending some time with the bridal party and guests I went to check the ceremony place which was just a few minutes walk behind the house. It was absolutely stunning! This was like a hidden gem that nobody around had any clue it existed. Our couple decided this would be the perfect place for their wedding. It was literally located in the middle of the small forest right off a trail.
D.I.Y. Wedding Decor
With cooler temperatures and the rich colours of nature, the fall months are practically made for weddings! Everything was handmade by the family, including the bouquets, the wedding arch and the sitting area made out of hay. Hay bales seem to be standing the test of time in terms of wedding decor. As a relatively cheap and versatile option, they can be both practical and decorative to create a relaxed, country vibe for your wedding day.
Congratulations Pavel & Natalie and thank you for allowing me to capture your wedding!
